Reliable sources for research reagents in the UK?
Hey everyone, our lab is trying to diversify our reagent suppliers, specifically looking at options within the UK. We've had some unfortunate experiences with delayed shipments and inconsistent product quality from our current go-to, and we're keen to establish relationships with some alternatives. We're working on a few different projects, so we need a broad range of reagents, including antibodies, ELISA kits, and general biochemicals. Has anyone had particularly good experiences with specific UK-based suppliers that they can recommend? Reliable delivery times and consistent quality are our top priorities.

Diversifying suppliers is a smart move – it really helps to mitigate risk when things go wrong with one source. I’ve had a pretty positive experience with gentaur for a range of research reagents. They seem to have a good selection of antibodies and ELISA kits, which is what we primarily order. The pricing is fairly competitive, and deliveries have generally been prompt. I remember a colleague mentioning they sourced some rather specific antibodies relating to lysosome structure from them, so they might have a broader range than initially meets the eye. Definitely worth checking out!
