Welcome Empowered with Gina as LATINAFest Sponsor!
We are excited to welcome Empowered with Gina as a sponsor for LATINAFest 2024!
Gina Zapanta is the founder of the Empowered with Gina platform, a space for women to embrace their ability to build a life they truly love, shunning societal expectations and traumas. Her podcast Empowered with Gina showcases an array of inspirational guests, and her exclusive women’s wellness and wealth-building retreats bring women together to build community, self-love, confidence, and wealth-building education. Gina is also the co-founder of Z.A. Lawyers, serving both California and Louisiana, specializing in accidents, work injuries, and employment disputes.
Gina received her bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California and her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School Los Angeles. She is a mom to six kids, two of whom were born through surrogacy.
In addition to building her platform and law firm, Gina’s passion is addressing education and food insecurity in underserved communities. In 2020, she and her husband, trial lawyer Mike Alder of AlderLaw, established a $100,000 endowment at her alma mater, Loyola Law School, for a first-generation Latina to attend law school. She consistently contributes to many causes to help further access to quality education and opportunities.
Furthermore, she created a pilot program with East LA Community College and Rio Hondo Community College entitled “The Z.A. Lawyers Legal Leadership Institute,” which gives students on the law school track a unique insight into the practicalities of practicing law. It culminated with four paid internships in her firm.
She co-authored a children’s book with Mike called 10% Magic, which is an introductory road-map for elementary school kids to learn the fundamentals of wealth building and to dispel cultural money-trauma.
Her Board of Director involvement includes:
USC Latino Alumni Association, Corporate Advisory Council
Loyola Law School, Los Angeles
Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Foundation
Latina Lawyers Bar Association, Advisory Board
President of the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Louisiana
LATINAFest Advisory Board
Her time is spent between her home in Sherman Oaks, CA, and at her family home, Z.A. Ranch, in Covington, Louisiana. She is fluent in Spanish.

Sylvia Castillo is the author of The Caballeros series, a steamy cowboy romance that is for all women who have never seen themselves in the books they were reading.
Maira Hernández is the author of Aventura, Amor y Tacos: The Path to Reconnecting with the Motherland, a story about the journey of what it means to be De Aquí y De Allá realizing many of our desires to leave America and return to the motherland.
Adriana Palomares is the author of the young adult book Brava: A Latina Lawyer’s Path to Empowerment, an inspirational fiction novel that explores the powerful themes of love, loss, accomplishment, and healing through the lens of a first-generation Latina lawyer.
